A four-truck accident closed Interstate 80 for nearly two hours today. The accident began when one pickup truck lost control and hit a guardrail, according to a report at Chicago Breaking News, I-80 in Joliet reopens after multi-truck crash. A second pickup truck and two semis following the first truck then became involved in the accident. One of the semi drivers was hospitalized but the injury was not life-threatening.
One of the semi-trailers in the accident was a UPS truck. Removal of the trucks from the crash site was a slow process, and traffic was backed up for five miles when the highway was finally reopened about 7 AM.
